KPMG is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Manager who will report to the Partners and Directors of KPMG Advisory Caribbean. The role has primary responsibility for managing a portfolio of valuation clients across The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, BVI, Cuba, Dutch Caribbean and elsewhere in the Caribbean. The successful candidate will be based in The Bahamas.
Experience should include valuations for general business purposes, fairness opinions, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, financial reporting purposes, expert witness and arbitration, insolvency purposes, family re-organization, and complex financial instruments.
Applicants will have specific valuations experience in sectors such as infrastructure, hospitality, real estate, banking, insurance and private equity.
Specific tasks will include:
- Acting as project manager for the duration of engagements, acting as key contact for the client, attending client meetings, and co-ordination of the work of junior staff
- Assisting in new business development including the preparation and presentation of documentation
- Ensuring adherence to all compliance and regulatory rules
- Managing and coaching people
- Speaking in public forums
Applicants must be a member of a recognized accountancy body and in particular hold a valuations qualification such as the Chartered Business Valuator (“CBV”) designation, in addition to having a minimum of five years work experience with a recognized accounting firm or specialist valuations firm. This position requires attention to detail, strong financial and report writing skills, strong people skills, the ability to work at one’s own initiative, the willingness to travel at relatively short notice, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Applicants must be fully competent in the Microsoft Office suite of products, and electronic research tools.
