Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Business Valuation and Litigation Support, the Associate is responsible for working on a variety of engagements, providing research and technical support, identifying and handling issues on files, assisting in the preparation of reports, and supporting the marketing initiatives of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in engagement planning including key issues and methodology
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for business valuation, damage claims or forensic accounting investigations
  • Review and analyze information to support technical conclusions
  • Request production of documents
  • Financial statement and document analysis
  • Prepare financial analysis and models
  • Conduct research for reports
  • Communicate with clients including correspondence preparation and follow-up
  • Work with team members to form appropriate approaches with respect to each engagement and communicate file status on a regular basis

Candidate Profile:

  • The incumbent must be enrolled in the Chartered Business Valuator program or has a strong interest in pursuing their Chartered Business Valuator designation
  • A CA/CPA or CGA designation would be an asset
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a public accounting firm
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and legal documents
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients or other parties
  • Ability to solve practical and complex problems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must have a strong commitment to quality, highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Is truly “passionate” for the area of business valuations and litigation support
  • Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment
