Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Business Valuation and Litigation Support, the Associate is responsible for working on a variety of engagements, providing research and technical support, identifying and handling issues on files, assisting in the preparation of reports, and supporting the marketing initiatives of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in engagement planning including key issues and methodology
- Assist in the preparation of reports for business valuation, damage claims or forensic accounting investigations
- Review and analyze information to support technical conclusions
- Request production of documents
- Financial statement and document analysis
- Prepare financial analysis and models
- Conduct research for reports
- Communicate with clients including correspondence preparation and follow-up
- Work with team members to form appropriate approaches with respect to each engagement and communicate file status on a regular basis
Candidate Profile:
- The incumbent must be enrolled in the Chartered Business Valuator program or has a strong interest in pursuing their Chartered Business Valuator designation
- A CA/CPA or CGA designation would be an asset
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a public accounting firm
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and legal documents
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients or other parties
- Ability to solve practical and complex problems
- Ability to work independently
- Must have a strong commitment to quality, highly organized and detail-oriented
- Is truly “passionate” for the area of business valuations and litigation support
- Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment
